The Fostering Idaho Partnership brings together experienced, mission-driven organizations to support foster children, birth families, and foster families across the state. By working together, we can provide the best resources, training, and mentorship to ensure kids thrive in stable, loving environments.

Foster + Heart

Foster + Heart was founded to meet an urgent need in Idaho’s foster care system: providing meaningful support for children entering care, foster families, and IDHW workers on the front lines. With a strong commitment to keeping sibling sets together and ensuring every child has the stability and care they deserve, Foster + Heart is dedicated to recruiting, equipping, and sustaining foster families in Regions 3 and 4 (Boise area).

Foster + Heart thrives on community engagement and advocacy, using innovative outreach strategies—including social media and public awareness campaigns—to inspire individuals and families to foster, donate, and volunteer. Their ability to mobilize support has helped expand the foster care community, ensuring more children find safe, loving homes.

Fostering Idaho

Fostering Idaho is a foster care agency that works with the Idaho Department of Health Welfare in regions 1 and 2 (Coeur d'Alene and Lewiston) to build a responsive, educated, and stable community of families to meet the needs of Idaho's waiting foster children. Our goal is to recruit safe, nurturing, trauma-informed resource parents that result in a strong foster family.

Members of our fostering community range from foster parents, to kinship (relative), respite care providers, or adoptive parents. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a foster parent, fostering teenagers, or becoming a foster family, we are here to support you in your journey.

Idaho Foster and Adoptive Parent Association

The Idaho Foster and Adoptive Parent Association (IDFAPA) is a vital support system for foster, adoptive, and kinship families across Regions 6 and 7 (Pocatello and Idaho Falls). Dedicated to advocacy, training, and direct support, IDFAPA works to ensure that families have the resources, education, and encouragement they need to provide stable, loving homes for children in care.

A standout initiative led by IDFAPA is The Village, a foster care closet established in 2020 to provide children in care with essential items such as clothing, school supplies, and other necessities. By coordinating donations, mobilizing volunteers, and building partnerships, IDFAPA ensures that every child has access to the support they need during times of transition.

Magic Valley Youth and Adult Services

Magic Valley Youth and Adult Services (MVYAS) has been a cornerstone of foster care and family support in Region 5 (Twin Falls area) for over two decades. With a deep commitment to youth development, foster family support, and independent living preparation, MVYAS provides essential services to help children and families thrive.

MVYAS is recognized for its expertise in training, mentorship, and trauma-informed care, ensuring foster parents and caregivers have the skills needed to support children facing difficult circumstances. Their programs focus on life skills development, foster parent education, and support for youth transitioning to adulthood and programs for birth families. The organization is also highly experienced in grant management, program implementation, and strategic planning, making it a trusted leader in the region.
